Building Bridges at the Royal Bath and West Show

helping out at the carymor conservation marquee
On the first week of June saw 20 Building Bridges volunteers do volunteering at the Bath and West show. Activities that volunteers helped out with included traditional firelighting, conservation crafts at the carymoor trust marquee, face painting and even a tug of war with Major the shire horse!! We also worked in partnership with Next steps with them recruiting 6 older volunteers of their own.
The week was extreemly busy with record numbers of people at the show on the Wednesday Thursday. Volunteers were given a choice at the begining of each day as to what activity suited them most. We were really impressed with how well all our volunteers handled their responsibilities. The Carymoor marquee was awarded best stand and the consevation area received an award for the best section we have the brass plaque to prove it!!.
